🏀 Metropolis Youth Basketball League Wraps Up Exciting Season! 🏆

The Metropolis Youth Basketball League concluded its action-packed season on Sunday, March 10th, with exhilarating final showdowns at Hellenic College Holy Cross. Over 100 enthusiastic young athletes showcased their skills across three vibrant leagues: JOY, GOYA Girls, and GOYA Boys.

Since November, the courts of Hellenic College Holy Cross reverberated with the competitive spirit of GOYA games, while JOY matches found their home at St. Demetrios in Weston. In the JOY finals, Watertown and Weston faced off, with Watertown emerging victorious in a thrilling match.

The GOYA Girls finals saw Arlington and Peabody battling it out for the title, with Peabody seizing the glory in an electrifying contest.

In a dramatic turn of events during the GOYA Boys finals, Worcester and Roslindale engaged in an intense battle that went down to the wire. With the game tied, Worcester delivered a jaw-dropping 3-pointer to tie up the game, igniting the crowd and extending the match up to overtime. Ultimately, Worcester sealed an unforgettable victory.

The event was attended by His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, who honored the winning teams and showed unwavering support for all the dedicated players who poured their hearts into the games this season. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the referees, staff, coaches, players, and parents whose collective efforts made this season a resounding success!

Teams that participated in our JOY League included Cambridge, Roslindale, Weston, and Watertown. Teams that participated in our GOYA Girls league included Arlington, Peabody, Roslindale, and Weston. The GOYA Boys League consisted of Arlington, Braintree/Brockton, Lynn, Peabody, Roslindale, Watertown, Weston, and Worcester.
