Recent news from the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos – March 18, 2018

The Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Board met on Saturday, March 10, 2017, at the Taxiarchae Church in Watertown, following the ordination of Archdeacon Dionysios.

The Members of the Board attended the Divine Liturgy celebrating the elevation of the Archdeacon whom they have come to know and love through his role as assistant to His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios.

Following a beautiful luncheon reception hosted by the Watertown Philoptochos, the Chairman, Metropolitan Methodios, and the Board convened.  Discussion included updates on Philoxenia House, Operation Housewarming, and the upcoming April 26, 2018 fundraiser, “An Evening with author Yvette Corporon”.  With time still to purchase tickets and send in your sponsorship, it was also announced that the Evening will include a dazzling array of Boutiques to delight the shoppers in attendance.  Details can be found by clicking here.

In conclusion, President Elaine Zetes announced that she has been named Co-chair of the upcoming National Philoptochos Convention to be held at the Marriott Copley Hotel from July 1 through July 5, 2018. Her Co-chair will be Barbara Pasalis of the Metropolis of Detroit.  Members of the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos and our Chapters will serve as the host committee.  Elaine expressed her hope that everyone will volunteer to show our guests the hospitality we are so well known for in New England.  She and the Board Members will be contacting the chapters soon to request assistance and urge every chapter to send delegates to the Convention.  More information on the Convention can be found at www.Philoptochos.org
