Feast of Saint Andrew the First-Called 2017
Thursday, November 30, 2017On the evening of Wednesday, November 29, 2017 clergy and faithful from throughout the Metropolis of Boston gathered at the Cathedral Chapel to celebrate the Great Hierarchical Vespers for the feast of St. Andrew, the First-called, patron saint of the Metropolis of Boston. At the conclusion of the Vespers service the new board of the Metropolis Philoptochos took the affirmation of office as they begin their term.His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios welcomed Cardinal Sean O'Malley and a delegation from the Catholic Archdiocese of Boston.
On Thursday, November 30, 2017 His Eminence presided at the Divine Liturgy offered for the feast of St. Andrew. Fr. Anton Vrame, Director of the Department of Religious Education, was the celebrant. The choir of Holy Cross, under the direction of Dr. Grammenos Karanos chanted the liturgy. At the end of the Divine Liturgy His Eminence offered a prayer for Chanters to Mrs. Irene Koulianos, who is the assistant of Dr. Karanos in teaching Byzantine Music at Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology.
