Saint John Chrysostom - Metropolis of Boston Finals 2017
Friday, May 19, 2017is Eminence Metropolitan Methodios congratulated all the finalists of the Metropolis of Boston Saint John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival! The Metropolis level of the Oratorical Festival was held at the Metropolis headquarters in Brookline, MA on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Metropolitan Methodios who praised the young people, their parents, their Church School Teachers and their Priests for encouraging them to participate in this annual event sponsored by the Department of Religious Education of the Archdiocese of America.
The Oratorical Festival provides the youth in the junior high school and in the senior high school the opportunity to research a topic related to their Faith and to prepare a several minute-long speech on that topic. His Eminence was amazed by how eloquently the participants articulated their thoughts and the vibrant faith that shone forth through their presentations.
The two finalists that received first place in the junior and senior division are Nathaniel J. Nichols and Alexandra K. Nichols, siblings from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Cranston, RI. This year the Metropolis of Boston has the distinct pleaser of hosting the National Oratorical Festival on the weekend on June 9, 2017.
