Metropolitan Methodios Attended Basketball Championship Games

GOYA CHAMPIONS---ST. GEORGE CATHEDRAL, MANCHESTER, NH
JOY CHAMPIONS---ST. VASIOLIOS, PEABODY, MA
His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios attended and offered the opening prayers for the Metropolis of Boston Basketball Tournament Championship Games on Sunday, January 23 held at the Hellenic College-Holy Cross Gymnasium. In the JOY Division, the St. Vasilios Team (Peabody, MA) won the championship in a final game with the St. Nectarios Team (Roslinlake, MA). In the GOYA Division the St. George Cathedral Team (Manchester, NH) emerged victorious from the game with the St. Nectarios Team.
A total of 17 Greek Orthodox
Church Teams competed throughout the weekend. Teams that do not play in the
Metropolis of Boston League throughout the season but that were able to participate
in the 2011 Tournament were St. Spyridon Cathedral in Worcester, MA, St. George
Cathedral in Manchester, NH, Annunciation Church in Cranston, RI, and a newly
formed team which was comprised of children from the the Annunciation Church in
Newburyport, MA and the Holy Apostles/ SS. Peter and Paul Church in Haverhill,
Ma.
