Laughter and music could be heard throughout the Metropolis of Boston Camp, as the last session of the 2007 summer camp season began. A cookout by the beautiful waterfront on Monday afternoon allowed campers and staff alike to rekindle connections and begin to create new bonds.
After the barbeque, the whole camp went to their first Vespers service as a community and then headed to separate campfires. These two activities were, and always are, thoroughly enjoyed. They also serve as a perfect, and all too appropriate, way to start the week - at church, as a family, and later getting to be loud and crazy, while sharing in fun and fellowship.
This year, the theme of camp was The Twelve Great Feasts of the Church. With sessions focusing on The Feasts during the day and a variety of camp wide activities every night, a strong sense of family within each cabin continued to grow.
By the end of the week, the attitude among the whole camp was one of unity, togetherness, and a faith and love in Christ. This feeling is one that each and every camper returns home with, which is what The Metropolis of Boston Camp is all about. To view summer camp 2007 photos, click here.
