Contoocook, NH - Members of the Annunciation Cathedral GOYA of Boston
recently held their annual ski retreat at the St. Methodios Faith and
Heritage Center. Skiing was held at Pat’s Peak ski area only minutes
from the camp. The Goyans decided to ski Saturday night and enjoy the
“pay one price” program at Pat’s Peak. This program
allows them the opportunity to ski, snowboard, or snowtube or any combination
thereof. After returning to the camp, they enjoyed a home cooked meal.
They concluded their stay with a late night campfire and devotional.
A devotional is a common practice among campers where the young people
have a chance to discuss their faith and share with their peers, staff
members, and seminarians. The night concluded with the hymn“Lord
of the powers…”. The staff and young people stayed the night,
but left early on Sunday morning to attend the Divine Liturgy and to
celebrate the Sunday of Orthodoxy in their home parish.
